Our family took the Scottsdale Trolley Food tour. Thee food was excellent and we saw a lot of Old Town Scottsdale. The guide was friendly and even though he was reasonably new to Scottsdale himself, he was prepared with plenty of interesting information. I would recommend this tour.
Fun way to explore and learn about downtown Phoenix, while eating great food and sipping libations (loved the Irish Pub). We were 2 of the 16 people from out of town, while ther rest were locals learning new things about their own city. All of us enjoyed the leisurely walk, and the wide variety of the food. Liked the food so much we returned to the Thai location the next day. Have to say one of the most interesting stops was a visit to Westward Ho, a former hotel of the famous, which is now a senior citizens residence, where Chef Dennis explained the history of the hotel. Beautiful day, and a great way to spend it.
Good luck to Jessica and Jay! This is a new tour but they have it all together.
We have visited the Phoenix area a number of times and we’ve always given the downtown a pass – never looked too interesting. The folks at Taste It Tours certainly put an end to that myth by uncovering amazing landmarks and stories of Phoeician history. But equally amazing was the food we had on the way; we sampled flatbreads, Southwest BBQ, Irish pub fare, Thai, and great desserts. In each location we were greeted by the owner or manager who introduced us to their business and educated us on their establishment and the food they were serving us. Our guides were fun and energetic and we made new friends over the course of three hours. Come hungry, you won’t be disappointed!
Taste-It Tours does an exceptional job. Jay and Jessica have created a tour that combines getting a (big) taste of a variety of dining options in downtown Phoenix with seeing many of the few remaining historical buildings to get a sense of the culture and cuisine of this great city. This 3-hour tour should be on every Phoenician’s as well as visitor’s “must do” list!
Taste it Tours was very fun! If you’re looking for something new to do and looking to meet nice people then this is for you. Make sure to wear your walking shoes! We walked downtown Phoenix and stopped for food/drinks at 5 different places and learned a little history along the way! The walking was just the right amount. Not too much, not too little. Also, make sure to bring a camera so you can take pictures of the buildings and the food! We will definitely do it again!
Even if you live in Phoenix, as we do, this is an informative and fun tour — not to mention tasty. I learned about buildings I had driven or walked past a hundred times before without really noticing. The food and drink samples were generous and delicious. I will definitely be going back to the restaurants, as well as the fun olive oil store.
We spent an amazing and pleasant afternoon with Jessica on her food tour. She provided the right blend of local lore, historical data, and information about points of interest, all with a light sense of humor that kept all of us interested. The restaurants she chose were interesting, and different from what you might find on your own, even if you’ve lived here for years. The food choices were varied, presented attractively, and while individual portions were small, by the end of the tour our stomachs were full of great food choices. I would definitely recommend this tour to friends. We had a terrific time!
Great experience. Visited some unique eateries and learned some interesting facts about the area. Lots of fun!!! Look forward to a repeat visit.
Great food… combined with alcohol if you wish… lots of downtown history perks included and great opportunity to interact with other food adventurers. The tours epitomize that Phoenix ‘out of the box’ experience and so so reasonable for the food and individual attention your tour receives. It’s a no brainer GO!!
An excellent evening experience! There was a lot more food & drinks than I expected, which of course is always a good thing!! A great selection of different foods at various places to try- all while walking around beautiful downtown Phoenix. Great and informative tour guide and met some really great people on this tour. This is a very fun way to spend an evening. I did the Phoenix tour and would definitely try out the Scottsdale tour as well next time!
